Artist Open Call
Gyeonggi Creation Center is accepting contemporary artists to support their creation activities. Residency period is one year for Korean artists, and open application will be available in October or November every year, and the decision will be made during December or January. Accepted artists will move in every March and will start their creation activities.
Creation Activation Program(Mentoring & Workshop)
Gyeonggi Creation Center is holding and promoting small and big events to assist artists’ continued development and expansion of artistic scope. Artist mentoring is designed to help artists to connect with domestic and international experts whom artists couldn’t have direct contact with, and to provide a place to discuss their development in depth. Invited mentors are not limited to genre critics and theorists, but we invite experts from various fields to help artists’ creation activities.
Open Studio
In this festival, the most popular event of Gyeonggi Creation Center Residency, residing artists showcase their works during the year to the public at the studio, exhibition, and performance area. In this period, all areas turn into an arena for open discussion and presentation. Participating artists promote exhibition, events, and performances with various types of arts and culture. Visitors can experience art programs hosted by the artists.
Exhibition and Events
In Gyeonggi Creation Center, there are facilities like permanent exhibition space, project exhibition space, test bed, and auditorium. The center provides the residing artists with opportunities to share and present various types of experimental art-making processes throughout the year.
International Exchange
We believe that we can provide various and wide cultural exchange and artistic ideas that are differentiated from short visits to specific projects or exhibitions. In 2009, at the opening of the facility, we held the Les Artists conference, and we have provided artist exchanging and invitation programs with Le Pabillon promotion exchange exhibition , Netherland(BKVB), Korea-Arab Society, and Africa, expanding our international network. Furthermore, in the future, we will focus on broadening ideas and having wide cultural exchange through continuous artist exchange programs with Japan(AIAV), Australia(Asia Link), New Caledonia, UAE, and Austria.
